Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) has a shelf life of up to two years so long as the environment in which it is kept is between 12° and 86° Fahrenheit. If you plan on storing your DEF in outdoor tanks, additional ventilation and insulation equipment should be installed to keep the solution within the acceptable storage temperature range. As most of our clients are in Southern California, most utilize cooled storage tanks when the product is being stored outside.
